Dr. Jeff Mullahey has served as the Head of the Department of Crop Science since June 1, 2012. Dr. Mullahey was a faculty member in the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences for 22 years. He directed the West Florida Research and Education Center in Milton, Fla. near Pensacola from 2000 to 2012.
Dr. Mullahey’s bachelor and master degrees are from N.C. State: the bachelor’s in animal science in 1979 and the master’s in agronomy in 1986. He received his Ph.D. in range science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1989. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he was an extension agent with what was then the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service in Anson County from 1980 until 1983.
