As the Undergraduate Teaching Coordinator, I am responsible for the administration for the undergraduate academic program, including the coordination of advising, academic scheduling, student recruitment and retention, curriculum maintenance and development. I am the Coordinator for Online and Distance Learning, where I am in charge of program development, budgeting, enrollment forecasting, marketing and student recruiting. I teach the two largest undergraduate courses in the department as well as advise and mentor a large number of undergraduate students.
Provides statewide leadership in basic soil science training for K12 educators, Extension Gardeners and the agricultural community.
My undergraduate teaching program consistently delivers a high quality learning experience to a large number of students from a diverse audience. A typical semester for my SSC 200 Soil Science lecture and SSC 201 Soil Science Laboratory will reach 61 unique concentrations spanning 40 different bachelor degrees. While my classes are high enrollment, individualized attention to the student remains a primary focus.
